Brown with Black? YES!

At one point in my life I felt like I couldn’t wear black and brown together, but things have changed! I am crazy about wearing this color combination! It adds more interest and contrast to any outfit. Imagine this outfit with black boots…kinda ho-hum…

In my next few posts I thought I would do some fall “must haves,” and I’m kicking it off with this great cardigan. I feel like this open cardigan is very versatile for the fall. I love that it’s black and cream, making it somewhat neutral. It would look cute with colored jeans, with leggings, or on top of a chambray shirt. Shoot, I think I’ll even wear it around the house with my pajama pants and Uggs. If I were pregnant I would be in this everyday and I’d probably wear it home from the hospital-ha!

So I’m a little upset, but hopefully I can make it up to you. When I bought this cardigan from Urban Outfitters, (but very similar if not same here) 2 months ago, I certainly didn’t think it was going to sell out. If I did, I would have posted it immediately. Instead, I decided to wait until the weather turned a little cooler. I have since learned my lesson. I should have known it would sell out, since it was only $69.00! But don’t worry, I’ve found two really great alternatives below.

Boots – Frye , Zara Black Jeggings- (for alternative Gap), Purse- Marc by Marc Jacobs

The picture on the left is Anthropologie and the picture on the right is Gap. The Gap sweater is new, it’s in stores but not online, yet. I just received word that you can order the Urban Outfitters Sweater in the store. It will ship October 20th when the restock.

    Hi,

i came across this post via a pin on pinterest of this sweater and immediately became obsessed. i have been looking for a sweater like this in black since i bought a similar structured one from Jaeger when i was in the UK last Christmas (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=47355423).

the GREAT news is that it is now back in stock on UrbanOutfitters.com! i used a 10% discount coupon (PurpleWishes) and the sweater is now on its way to me!

    Thank you!!!!!

Just found your blog a few days ago and I’m officially obsessed!! My mom and I were shopping yesterday and I just HAD to pop in Urban Outfitters to see if they had any of these left. It was our lucky day… two had been returned. I’ve been living in it ever since. Thanks for the fabulous tip!

I found your blog a couple months ago and LOVE it!! I wanted to buy this sweater but am unsure of this sizing. I’m 5’9″ and typically wear a size 2. what size do you recommend?

I found your picture on pinterest and recreated it today but your picture came from a tumblr and not your blog. One of my readers made sure to let me know where it was from so I just wanted to thank you for the inspiration!

To be honest with you, I can’t remember. Based on your measurements, I think you should order an xs.
