This may look like a normal post, but let me be clear, Houston is not back to normal. I’m not trying to diminish the fact that there is still a lot to do in Houston. It’s difficult to see things move forward when you feel sad. But if you know me, you know I take my word seriously. I gave my word to Nordstrom that I would complete a post, and that’s what I’m going to do. But I’m no stranger to hard times. C. Style was born out of a dark time when I just wanted to focus on something fun, like style! So I’ll continue trying to be a bright spot in your inbox, but I say this knowing personally that bright spots in dark times can be quite annoying. In an effort to balance it all, all proceeds from this post will go to Harvey relief efforts.
I find the transition between summer and fall one of the hardest times to find something to wear! All I have in my closet are summer clothes. And I’m tired of wearing my summer tops, shorts and white jeans, but it’s still very HOT!
Well, I found the best solution EVER!!!! This black denim skirt is where it’s at!
I love this black Madewell skirt specifically because the front is shorter, which makes it more flattering on the leg. I also love that the back is longer so my behind is covered (kinda important – ha!). Did you guys know Nordstrom carries Madewell!?!

For a more fall look, you can wear the skirt with booties!

It also looks good with sandals for a more summery look.

I love how versatile it is, and I love that it’s giving a new life to my summer tops and t-shirts. Shall I say it? It’s the perfect piece to transition from summer to fall!
I NEVER would’ve thought I’d want a denim skirt, but I’m obsessed with that one! Maybe if I had your legs I would’ve thought of it beforehand too. 😉
Love your mention at the beginning, so well written and thoughtful!
I’m obsessed. I wore it again yesterday. Eeeew! HAHAHAHA!
Bought it!!! Can’t tell if I should go up a size or not. It fits but is pretty skin tight. Does it stretch after a few wears or will it hold its shape and I should go up a size for a little less skin tight feel?????
I had to go down a size, because it’s the only size they had in the store. It was skin tight. I’m now happy with the fit. It does stretch a bit. I hope this helps.
