I meant to say this in my last post, but I ran out of time and space -ha (I had already blabbered on too much.): I can get all sorts of confused when shopping a “SALE!” (That’s how I see it in my head- all caps, blinking neon lights. Especially the Nordstrom Anniversary SALE, because I love the concept). I’m all over the place, asking myself questions: Do I really like this, or do I just like it because it’s on sale? Do I really need it? What if I don’t buy it, will it sell out? Ok, I’ll buy it, wait on it, and return it if I don’t like it. See? I’m all sorts of confused, but there is a way I avoid some of this confusion.
During the sale, I start to think about what I needed last fall and didn’t have. For instance, last fall, I wished I had a pair of green jeans and black skinny jeans that were a little different than my other trusty black skinny jeans. Usually, the items I think of are staple items, which is a perfect way to shop this sale! Now, I am human. I certainly bought a few things that I didn’t “need”, but I thought they were so darn cute that I just wanted them. I can’t take myself too seriously! -ha!
Anyway, if you need some basic denim, this is your post! Btw, we tried on most of the jeans included in the SALE. We found that we didn’t like the wash on a lot of them, or they gave us (and by us, I mean me) crotch issues -ha! Here’s what we loved:
My self proclaimed “curvy” friend put these jeans on and said, and I quote, “These jeans just made me lose 10 pounds.” We all immediately turned to look at her and were all like, “Oh, wow, those look amazing!” Which is precisely why I’m starting with these jeans. She did the sit test, and she had no butt crack peek-a-boo.
We also loved these basic jeans. I personally really like the way AG fit me. They make me look like I have a bit of a booty -ha! I also liked the wash on these. Throw these on with a sweater and boots, and you are ready for the fall!
Now, if you are just looking for some really flattering jeans that are super comfy (because they are jeggings) at a fraction of the price of designer jeans, these are your jean! If you find that you wear a lot of tunics or flowy shirts, jeggings are a really great item to add to your wardrobe. The super slim legs have a sliming effect under tunics.
This sweater is fabulous, isn’t it? Click here for it. Now, lets focus on these black skinnies. Finally, I found a pair of black skinny jeans I can get excited about! I love the front zipper. I can even see opening up the zipper and doing something fun with it and a pair of sneakers. They’ll look good dressed up with my new mule or worn casually with sneakers. AND, most importantly, they fit great!
One time, my friend pointed out to me that she considered this army green color a neutral in her closet. Ever since, this point has proven to be true over and over again. Just think about all the different outfits we wear our army green jackets with! This same concept applies for green jeans! This is why I’ve been jonesing for a pair since last fall. I love the way these FRAME pair fit me because they’re long enough! For reference, I’m 5′ 8″.
My self proclaimed “curvy” friend, who is also a few inches shorter than me, found the green pair of PAIGE fit her better! My sister bought them, too!
Both pairs of green jeans
Processed with VSCO with a5 preset are fabulous!
