Leave it to me to completely forget an entire outfit for my style blogger conference. And, of course, it was the outfit for the closing party at the end of the weekend. I wish I could say that I had planned it out and just forgot it, but I’d be lying. So what did I do? I went shopping with two of my roomies, Sheaffer and Cassie. Thank goodness they were with me because they talked me out of a very impractical dress, and then we found this one!
I am crazy about this dress. It reminds me of what I typically look for (or should look for) when buying a dress. First off, it doesn’t require shape-wear, special under garments, or a special bra. I don’t want it to be complicated! Secondly, because of the cut and fabric, I feel like I can wear it to church, a wedding, a work event or to a luncheon. Thirdly, I feel like I can change the shoes, add a blazer or a pop of color with an accessory, and I’ve got a completely different look.
I was also pretty excited about my accessories, so I wanted to share. I love to get creative when accessorizing an outfit. As long as it looks good, anything goes in my book. This night I combined two necklaces by tying one to the other. And thank goodness Cassie had an extra bag. I borrowed her adorable clutch from Old Navy, and it really tied the outfit together!
