I’m back! I went to Dallas to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale with my aunt and cousins! I’ve been doing my due diligence over here, making sure you guys see the very best of what the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has to offer. The Sale is this coming season’s items at 30-40% off for a limited time and goes up to original price when the sale ends, I guess you can see why things are already selling out! I went into every department and used my eagle shopping eye (trained by hours of shopping at TJ Maxx and Marshalls with my mom growing up) to pick out and try on the very best of what I saw in each department! This post is broken down into staples- dresses, outerwear, jeans, workout pants, etc.. So let’s start with dresses, because there are some absolutely darling dresses in the Sale!
Dress– You all know I’m not really a dress person (I’m always in jeans), but this dress may convert me! I can see it worn to work with heels/booties, and you could even put a white oxford under to change things up. I can also see it for church or worn super casually with a denim jacket and flip flops or a wedge. A dress you can wear to work, church and casually?! Now that’s a dress! I’m wearing a 2P.
Dress– Anyone need a little black dress for this coming holiday party season?!? I mean, how perfect of a dress is this for New Years Eve, a fun holiday party, or a fun birthday party?? It’s just the right amount of edge, and it’s sexy without showing the goods… you know what I’m saying? I’m wearing a 2.
Dress– I am a sucker for a well fitting red dress. You can pair this dress with black opaque hose, black booties, and some gold jewelry, or wear it with just black heels to work. You can practically wear this dress to any holiday event. It’s classy, sophisticated and festive! I’m wearing a 2.
Dress– I just really love this dress. I love navy, I love that the sleeves come down to the elbow, and I especially love the flattering V neck. It’s just a pretty, pretty dress. If you are looking for more dresses to add to your wardrobe, you don’t want to miss this one! I’m wearing a 2.
Work out pants:
Pants– I’m laughing because I just went from classic navy and red dresses to these crazy fun pants. But I guess if you want to go crazy and fun, work out pants are a great place to do it! Well, the pattern is obviously so super fun (and all my different work out tanks will match these pants), but what I really love most is the fabric on these. It’s that light weight, cold fabric that keeps you cool while you work out. I’m wearing xs.
Pants– These pants have the same type of light weight fabric as the previous pants. These were unbelievably comfortable for work out pants. I’m not sure why these were so comfortable, but they just were. I also like that they are black and white, and I can wear them with any top. No matching needed, because what doesn’t go with black and white?!?! This is huge for me, because I am matching challenged when it comes to work out wear. I’m wearing a small but ordered the xs.
Pants– I have about three pairs of these Zella Live In capris. I wear them every week! I love them, and they have many different color options available. I really like how the seams/lines curve around your leg, making them ultra flattering. Plus, when is the last time you saw this season’s work out pants for under $34?! I’m wearing an xs.
Leather Jackets: (I tried on lots. I mean A LOT, and these were my favorites.)
Jacket– This one was super soft. I love how it comes in and defines the waistline. That’s especially helpful when you’re wearing flowy shirts underneath. I also like how it has a tailored fit in the shoulders. And just in case you don’t want to go overly moto, I liked how there wasn’t a ton of hardware. I’m wearing an xs.
Jacket– This one was stiffer, but I really loved the look of it. Once again, I like how it comes in to define a waistline, and what is super flattering about this jacket is that it is cropped in the back. I really love the moto look of this one, and I can see it looking cute over a blue and white sundress, just as easily as pairing it with all of your jean outfits in the winter. I’m wearing an xs.
Jacket– Well, I already have quite a few moto and drapey leather jackets, BUT I don’t have a leather jacket that’s cut like a jean jacket! It’s like nothing I’ve even seen before! Well, I had to have it. Look how cute it is! I’m wearing an xs.
Jacket– How pretty is this leather jacket? It such a statement all on it’s own. If you are looking to splurge for yourself on a really pretty jacket for this season, look no further. It’s beautiful. I’m wearing an xs.
Jeans– Now, I tried on a ton of jeans in the jean section. I mean a ton. These were the only pair I got truly excited about. These are Joe’s Curvy Skinny jeans. If you have been on the fence about trying to wear skinny jeans because of your curvy nature, these are the jeans for you! If you need a really good pair of dark skinnies for the fall/winter, these jeans are for you! If you want to feel like you are wearing leggings instead of jeans, these jeans are for you! If you want a super forgiving, well fitting jean, these jeans are for you. Now, that’s a tall order for a pair of jeans, but I will stand by everything I said. They really are that good. Oh, and they are less than $120, which is pretty good for designer jeans. True to size.
Jeans– These jeans are from the juniors department and are less than $42. I’ve always thought that the moto jean look was cool, but I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a pair. That’s why these are perfect. Plus, my cousin said that they are selling a similar pair at Anthropologie right now! I’m wearing a size 3 in the picture, but I thought the size 5 fit better.
Jacket– Have you seen a cuter army jacket?!?! The collar, the cropped, very flattering cut, the perfect green color- it’s a different take on the army jacket, and I am sold hook, line and sinker. Done. I’m wearing an xs.
Sweater– What sweater do I wear most in the fall/winter? Yup, my grey v-neck sweater! Well, it’s pilling now and I need a replacement. So when I tried on this one and it was as soft as it was (not itchy) and fit so perfectly, I had absolutely no hesitation. I really liked the way it looked sloppy tucked, too. I’m wearing an xs.
Shirt– All you flannel lovers, did you know there was a Paige plaid (flannel) in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?!?! Well, I know there are some die hard plaid lovers out there, so I had to show you guys! I would size up in this one. I’m wearing an xs in the picture, and the button is trying to pop at the chest -ha!
Jacket– A flattering puffer jacket, can it be? I was shocked at how flattering this North Face puffer jacket was. I think it’s because of the side routing. Anyway, I wear my puffer jacket non-stop during the winter, and it is not flattering but it keeps me warm. But this one is perfect, because it’s both flattering and warm! Not to mention practical! I’m wearing an xs.
Vest– A puffer vest is a great winter staple for anyone’s wardrobe, and this one is on SALE! I already have one, and I wear it all the time! If you don’t have one, here’s your chance to get one (a really good one) at a really great price! I’m wearing a small but needed an xs.
Jacket– This look is so in right now. I have tried wearing my denim vest over my grey hoodie to achieve this look, but it didn’t look nearly this cute! If you watch the show “Fixer Upper”, Joanna Gaines wears a similar jacket all the time and looks adorable! It’s a perfect casual lightweight jacket for Southerners. I love the look, but I love the price even more! I’m wearing a small.
Jacket– I’m ending with this coat because it was my splurge, and I’m super excited about it! I don’t have a long winter coat. I haven’t in years. I was looking for just the right one to grab me and make me buy it -ha! I absolutey love that I can wear it open or closed, and it looks chic and flattering both ways. I also love that it’s not super restricting. I like that I can wear all my layer under this jacket and I’ll still be comfortable. I also loved that the sleeves were fitted but not too tight! I had a jacket that when I bent my arms it would cut of my circulation because it was tight and the fabric was so thick. Well, I won’t have that problem with this coat. Wait, and did you see the collar?!?!? Ok, I just love it. I’m wearing an xs.
Ok guys, that’s the best of the best from my eagle shopping eyes of the clothing from the Sale! The Sale is currently open to card holders only (super easy to become one) and will be open to everyone on Friday. Up next- accessories and more! Stay posted!
