The Organized Traveler, I Am Not

Madewell Tie-Sleeve Dress in Stripe

This weekend, I’m going to my sister-in-law’s bachelorette party weekend. Usually when I go on a weekend trip, I look like a disheveled crazy women… I’m normally carrying my lands end “boat tote” with things popping out of the top (like my hair dryer and brushes), and I’m usually carrying my hanging clothes. Well girls, not this time! I’ve been on the hunt to find a look and luggage to help me look and feel a little organized, so now I will look like the perfectly organized traveler that I am not -ha! .  Madewell Tie-Sleeve Dress in Stripe

It’s a never ending quest for me, but travel looks always start off with a perfect travel outfit. I found this dress, and it’s perfect. It’s comfy, it won’t wrinkle easily (it already has that look going), it’s light weight, and it can transition to any activity. PERRRRRFECT.

I’ll be honest, I have always felt that the major culprit for making me look and feel like a disheveled mess when I travel was my erupting boat tote. So I’ve been looking for a weekender bag to solve all my unorganized traveler problems. I went on a search, and I found this one. I liked it because it was big (I was able to fit clothes and shoes for a three day trip!), had a cross body and shoulder option, and it zipped to keep all my mess inside. I’ve linked to other (less expensive) weekender bags that meet this criteria below.

The other culprit was my old terry cloth train case my sister gave me as a present over 10 years ago. You can imagine how dirty it was… But I loved it, so I went on a search to find one just like it but that was more durable and wouldn’t get so dirty. The vinyl on my new train case can be wiped clean and the size is big enough for all my stuff!Madewell Tie-Sleeve Dress in StripeFinally, after a long drive, I’ll throw on my trusty red lip color to make me look a little more chipper. Here’s hoping I don’t look like a disheveled mess this weekend. I’m sure I’ll trip or spill coffee on myself, but at least my bag won’t be erupting!
