Last Wednesday, I shared “My Timesaving, Everyday Makeup Routine.” Today, I’m sharing a little trick I stumbled upon, and it’s also a timesaving hack! I choose my lipstick/blush after I get dressed every day. It may seem a bit weird, but if I’m wearing black or white, I love wearing a red lip and a bright blush. If I’m wearing dark jewel tones, I like a darker lip and coordinating blush. If I’m wearing pink, I like to wear feminine colors on my face. Some may think this takes too much work/thought, but I think it’s so much fun! On this day, my outfit was a bit edgy, and I was determined to wear a natural looking lip. I’d like to wear a natural lip more, but every time I do, I look in the mirror and think, “Ooooo, I need color! I look so pale!” So to give myself some much needed color, I grabbed my red lipstick and…
…applied it to my cheeks, instead! My friend Traci just started snapping the camera and captured it all. This is the trick I use pretty much every day.
Typically, I’ll apply my lipstick to the apples of my cheeks…
…and then just rub it in.
Viola! I was able to keep my natural lip and still look alive! All I needed was a punch of color on my cheeks! My pale lip color is “Tiber” by NARS, and I have Luxembourg by NARS on my cheeks.
I love my timesaving hack of using my lipstick as my blush! I do it almost every day! My favorite lipstick/blush’s are the NARS Lipstick Pencil in Luxembourg, Hyde Park or Dragon Girl. For pink, I like Yu by NARS. For a dark red, I use Charlotte by NARS.
Awesome trick! I have all of those lip colors except for Charlotte. Happy Monday!
I’m glad you liked it!
Brings back wonderful memories of my mother, who would have been 96, using lipstick on her cheeks when she ran out of blush. A true
southern woman who never fretted over the
little things. Thanks for reminding us to use what we already have at hand.
I absolutely love your comment. I think you should make this a quote, “a true southern woman never frets over the little things.”
