Ok, I actually really dislike the word “obsession” when it comes to clothes because, well, the definition is “an unhealthy and compulsive preoccupation with something or someone.” I mean, yikes, right? But I couldn’t come up with another word! Comment below if you have a better one for me. I know there are some wordsmiths out there. It’s not really an obsession. It’s just that I’m obsessed with red accents right now. Maybe it started with my red lucky peacock fan earrings? Or was it my red lip? Or was it a picture I saw on Pinterest?
However it started, a recent happy happenstance really sealed the deal. I was forced to wear a pair of red workout socks, because I’d forgotten my own, and they looked darling with my workout outfit! I’m in workout clothes nonstop right now, and I think red tennis shoes will make my outfits look cuter and make me feel cuter! Plus, I’m headed to Colorado and these tennis shoes will be perfect for all of our activities! But then I wanted to put on a pair of heels with this blue and white skirt outfit, and all I could think was how cute would red heels be. Then I went to my closet and looked at all my dressier outfit options to see if red heels would look good with them, and it was a resounding YES! So I purchase a pair of red heels, too! After my ankle injury, I haven’t worn heels much because I’m afraid to roll it again, but since these are block heels, I think I can do it!

Preoccupation. 😉
I like!
I have a love of red shoes too. There’s just something about the oomph that they can give an outfit.
Yes, exactly!
How about smitten? 🙂
I like!
I bought a pair of red suede flats and found they went with so much in my closet. I wear them all the time and love them. Glad I am not the only one loving red.
I’m afraid I might not wear anything else!
How about passion/passionate? Seems to go with the color red! Love the collage of pics too. When my teen was tiny I always dressed him in red sneakers (Keds, Converse). So cute! He’d be mortified now. Have been lurking on your site for some time with no comment. I used to be so slim and dressed nicely, but somewhere along the line of motherhood years I lost my mojo so to speak. It’s amazing how one can “forget” how to shop for clothes. I’m trying to correct that and have used your suggestions a great deal. I like when you explain how to wear something, ie: a sloppy tuck, or different ways to wear a huge scarf/shawl. Keep up the good work!
Hi Marianne, I started the blog from a very similar spot that you describe. One night, I explained to my friends that I felt I had lost myself in many ways, especially in regard to my style. They encouraged me, and that’s why C. Style exists! I’m glad you are finding my tips and tricks helpful. I’ll keep them up just for you. I’m serious, sometimes I feel like I’m beating a dead horse.
