Meet Minnie and Pixie

I know we are all on a constant quest for the perfect black pants. I know because I help clients look for them all the time. There are two pairs of pants that are my go-to black pants for clients, and they always love them. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to tell you all about them.

Meet Pixie. The Pixie pant to be exact. I’ll never forget the first time I saw these black pants on my friend. I stopped mid-conversation when she came to the table. She looked amazing.

I know what you’re thinking, “She’s crazy — those things are so tight, I can’t wear those” (don’t worry, I have another pant for you if my convincing doesn’t work -ha!). I would pretty much say the same thing if I hadn’t seen how amazing my friend looked in them. She gave me the confidence. Here is the thing, right now flowy tops and blazers are in, and if you wear bottoms that are loose fitting, you’ll have the unwanted box effect that makes you look bigger than you are. That’s why it’s so important to have a tight fit on the bottom. Trust me, try them with one of your flowy tops, and your friends will be like me, stopping mid-conversation to tell you how great you look. Oh, and my S-I-L wears them casually with Uggs, and I think they look adorable with sneaks, too.

Pixie/ Minnie

But if I can’t quite convince you, there is another pant at J. Crew that is also a go-to for me. They are called the Minnie pant. They are still fitted but have pockets in the back, belt loops and look great with heels and flats. They make the perfect business casual or church pant. But you must get them as tight as you can. It’s all in the fit with these pants. Oh, and my client mentioned that she thought J.Crew was only for tall thin people, but trust me, they look great on everybody.

Well, I hope I helped you with the never ending search for perfect black pants. I wear mine like crazy, and I hope you’ll find that you do the same!
